Al Pacino utters iconic 'Scarface' line 35 years later in exclusive clip
Al Pacino is saying hello to his little friend — again!
The Oscar-winning actor uttered his iconic Scarface line in EW’s exclusive clip after a 35th-anniversary screening of the movie at the Tribeca Film Festival.
During a discussion of his many memorable movie lines with moderator Jesse Kornbluth, Pacino casually — teetering on mumbling — said the beloved six words: “Say hello to my little friend.”
The audience cheered as Pacino went on to explain how he jokingly responds to the everyday request for him to repeat the line.
“I say, ‘Hello,’” Pacino laughed, making sure to credit the film’s screenwriter, Oliver Stone, with coming up with the iconic line.
“It’s caught on in such a way, and we all have experienced it. This wasn’t the way it started,” he said. “When Scarface first came out, it was extremely controversial, this kind of movie. It stays in our lexicon in a way. It’s around, and it’s a part of our culture in a strange way. “
Scarface actors Michelle Pfeiffer and Steven Bauer, along with director Brian De Palma, joined Pacino on stage.
Now fans can celebrate the 35th anniversary of Scarface when a special screening of the movie hits over 200 theaters nationwide on June 10, 11, and 13. You can get your tickets through Screenvision Media.
