New footage features Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode and slasher icon Michael Myers

How long has Jamie Lee Curtis’ Halloween franchise heroine Laurie Strode been preparing to take down masked killer Michael Myers? Well, in the universe of director David Gordon Green’s Halloween reboot — which chooses to ignore the many sequels that followed John Carpenter’s original 1978 horror classic — the answer is quite a while as hinted at in a just-released teaser for Friday’s full trailer. “I’ve waited for him,” intones Curtis, as we see Laurie firing a gun and ultimately seeming to attack Myers himself with a knife, “he’s waited for me.”

It’s always nice when people have something in common, am I right?

Halloween costars Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, and Nick Castle. The film is released Oct. 19 and is written by Green, Danny McBride, and Jeff Fradley.
