Have you ever wondered what puppet sex looks like? The Happytime Murders’ first trailer is about to show you.

STX has unveiled the very NSFW debut preview for the upcoming action-comedy, which stars Melissa McCarthy as a police officer investigating a series of whacky slayings in the seedy underworld of criminal puppets. And while director Brian Henson (son of Muppet master Jim Henson) has made a name for himself on similar films that bands humans and puppets together, the humanoid dolls in The Happytime Murders definitely aren’t the kind palling around with Kermit.

“For fifty cents I’ll suck your d—k,” a mangy puppet wearing a sex harness tells McCarthy in the trailer’s opening moments. Before knocking him out cold, she responds: “Well it’s a great price. It almost makes me wish I had a d—k for you to suck.”

Thus the tone is set for what appears to be a bonkers jaunt through a universe where an unknown entity is knocking off innocent puppets. That’s where McCarthy’s Connie Edwards comes in, joining forces with a burly puppet detective to crack the case. But, along the way, a gang of puppet thugs forces Connie to snort ecstasy through a piece of licorice after she’s propositioned by several puppet prostitutes in the back alleys of Los Angeles. What could possibly go wrong from there?

We’ll have to find out when The Happytime Murders — also starring Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Banks, and Joel McHale — hits theaters on Aug. 17. Watch the NSFW red-band trailer above.
