Avengers: Infinity War star Josh Brolin tries Thanos' voice with different accents
'Yo, I'm tellin' you destiny's right here'
As the star of acclaimed films like No Country for Old Men and Sicario, actor Josh Brolin has proven himself to be a man of many talents. For his role as Thanos in the Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, he also had to become a man of many voices to nail down an appropriately imposing take on the nefarious villain.
“How did they cast you for this? Did you audition different voices?” The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon asked Brolin on Tuesday night’s episode.
Referencing a photo of Thanos held by Fallon, Brolin responded: “I mean, what voice is attached to that? What voice would you do for a Thanos character?” Next, he repeated the character’s infamous line, “Destiny will arrive” in his signature growl. But then things got weird.
“What if you do like, ‘Destiny will arrive‘” he said, channeling the high-pitched squeak of Mickey Mouse. Next up was Valley girl: “Oh my God, destiny will arrive!”
Fallon joined in when Brolin gave the line a New York City remix. “Yo, I’m tellin’ you destiny’s right here. Don’t even worry about it,” Brolin finished.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weekdays at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. Watch Brolin’s interview — during which he also recounts a recent trip during which he was mistaken for singer Josh Groban — above.
