Film will receive its world premiere at SXSW on Saturday
As the character of Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, Josh Brolin looks pretty darned invincible. But the No Country for Old Men actor seems decidedly less all-conquering in a just-released clip from the screening-at-SXSW film, The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter. In the film, Brolin plays Buck Ferguson, who is famous for hunting whitetail deer, and plans a special episode of his hunting show around a bonding weekend with his estranged son, Jaden (Montana Jordan). With trusted — but hapless — cameraman and friend Don (Danny McBride) in tow, Buck sets out for what soon becomes an unexpectedly epic adventure of father-son reconnection in the great outdoors.
The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter is directed by Jody Hill (Eastbound & Down, Observe and Report) and written by Hill, McBride, and John Carcieri. The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, and Hill while the movie’s executive producers are McBride, David Gordon Green, and Lila Yacoub. The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter costars Scoot McNairy and Carrie Coon.
The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter will receive its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on Saturday. More information about the film’s SXSW screenings can be found at the festival’s official website.
The film will premiere on Netflix, July 6.
