Buckle up: Here's the expanded trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story
- Movie
Who is Han Solo? After all these years, we think we know. But the expanded teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story suggests otherwise.
“I may be the only person who knows what you are,” says Qi’ra, Emilia Clarke’s femme fatale character.
We get a grin from Alden Ehrenreich. It’s not the same half-smile, but it’s familiar enough. “What’s that?”
Even Solo may not fully see himself.
With this trailer, we get a little more of a window into the May 25 film: An alien horde, hostile otherworldly landscapes, galactic speakeasies, and a young guy trying to survive in a universe full of people ready to kill you.
“I’ve been running scams on the street since I was 10,” we hear him say. “Kicked out of the Flight Academy for having a mind of my own.”
What are the forces that forged the scoundrel? Overconfidence and good luck.
There even seems to be a nod to the upheaval during production, when filmmaker Ron Howard took over from original directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord: “Thought we were in trouble there for a second. But it’s fine. We’re fine.”
We’ll explore in more detail in this deep-dive gallery.
Meanwhile, here are the new posters:
