James Gunn offered $100,000 for Trump to step on a scale
UPDATED: Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn isn’t buying Donald Trump’s annual medical exam. And he’s willing to bet $100,000 that the report wasn’t accurate.
Gunn tweeted that he would give six figures to Trump’s favorite charity if the president would step on a scale under more transparent circumstances.
Trump’s medical report stated the president passed a cognitive impairment test (surprising his critics), is in “excellent” health (though his cholesterol is too high), is 6′ 3″ and weighed 239 pounds.
When a fan recalled a report that Trump once funneled money earmarked for charity into a self-portrait, Gunn replied with this:
Some online readers, however, have accused Gunn of “fat shaming” the president.
The president’s exam was apparently administered by a credible physician, however. The New York Times reported that the test was overseen by Dr. Ronny L. Jackson, a rear admiral in the Navy and a longtime White House physician who was given high marks by an Obama senior advisor. Still, Gunn was doubtful:
Gunn’s next project is writing and directing Guardians 3 for Marvel. On Tuesday he tweeted the film will be released in 2020.
