Michael Caine is a dictator with a teenage pen pal in Dear Dictator trailer
A teenage girl has found herself quite the unusual pen pal in the upcoming film Dear Dictator.
Lady Bird actress Odeya Rush plays Tatiana Mills, a rebellious American teenager whose assignment to write to someone she looks up to results in her establishing a pen pal relationship with General Anton Vincent (Michael Caine), dictator of a British-Caribbean island nation.
“I admire his style,” she tells her teacher (Jason Biggs) in the trailer, which EW is debuting.
Upon being overthrown by his people, Vincent seeks refuge with his young friend and her mother (Katie Holmes). “He’s not a creepy child molester; he’s a dictator,” assures Tatiana. (But tell that to the social studies teacher he “milk-boards.”)
Dear Dictator, which also stars Seth Green, opens March 16 in theaters and on VOD. Watch the exclusive trailer above.
