Evan Rachel Wood is an angsty abductress in tense Allure trailer
Allure
- TV Show
Evan Rachel Wood is making black nail polish and angsty teenage rebellion great again in the brooding trailer for her upcoming film Allure.
The Westworld actress stars in the indie drama as Laura, a house cleaner with a mysterious past who forms a peculiar bond with Eva (Julia Sarah Stone), the 16-year-old daughter of a client. Laura’s charms — and edgy demeanor — win over Eva’s affections, and she ultimately runs away from home with her new companion as their relationship becomes increasingly obsessive in nature.
“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do,” a stone-faced Laura says to Eva through an embrace shortly after the teen has an explosive argument with her overbearing mother, alluding to their impending plot of escape. Shortly thereafter, the police interrogate Laura regarding Eva’s unexpected disappearance, suggesting the former’s intentions may be fueled by a manipulative impulse than genuine affection.
Allure, the first film written and directed by Jason and Carlos Sanchez, premiered in September at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Wood’s performance was praised by critics.
The film, also starring American Horror Story actor Denis O’Hare, hits a limited number of theaters in New York and Los Angeles on March 16, the same day it hits On Demand and digital retailers. Watch the new trailer above.
