Steven Soderbergh's secret thriller Unsane gets a release date
Just a few months after Steven Soderbergh’s crime caper Logan Lucky sped into theaters, the director’s next project has landed a release date.
Bleecker Streeet will release Soderbergh’s new film Unsane in theaters in wide release on March 23, EW has confirmed. Soderbergh directed the thriller from a script by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, and the plot follows a young woman who “is involuntarily committed to a mental institution where she is confronted by her greatest fear — but is it real or is it a product of her delusion?”
Claire Foy, Joshua Leonard, Jay Pharoah, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins, and Amy Irving star, and Soderbergh reportedly shot the entire thing in secret on an iPhone. Pharoah teased the film in an interview with EW earlier this year, saying, “The movie reminds me of some reality-type horror — almost Get Out-ish, but different, which feels good.”
