Looks like that peach isn’t the only thing getting some action in Call Me By Your Name.
With the sweet sounds of The Psychedelic Furs’ classic “Love My Way” guiding him, Armie Hammer does quite a number on the dance floor in a new clip from Sony’s likely awards contender.
The teaser opens as a young Elio (Timothée Chalamet) watches the enchanting, uninhibited groove of his father’s live-in academic assistant, Oliver (Hammer), as he gets down in the middle of a crowded nightspot. He later joins, the footage cutting out as the pair dances side-by-side.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Call Me By Your Name’s tender treatment of unexpected courtship has generated significant Oscar buzz since its January debut at Sundance. It later traveled to awards-positioning festivals in Toronto and New York, where Chalamet and Hammer received enthusiastic praise for their performances in the same-sex love story.
“Luca set the tone,” Hammer previously told EW of his director’s style. “He’s one of the most sensual people I’ve ever met. I’m convinced if he could make love to everything around him, he would… I can’t think of another movie where two men are so openly and honestly with each other. We made a movie that’s so tender and enjoyable, it can bridge gaps.”
Call Me By Your Name shimmies into theaters Nov. 24. Watch the new preview above.
