The Leisure Seeker

Hollywood heavyweights Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland are off on an adventure to remember in the trailer for The Leisure Seeker.

The just-released preview sees the award-winning duo hit the road for an unforgettable expedition in the reliable RV they’ve named The Leisure Seeker. Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Michael Zadoorian, the movie tells of an older married couple who runs away on a cross-country journey to visit Ernest Hemingway’s house in Key West, Florida in an attempt to escape their overbearing children and doctors. (They make some fruitful stops along the way — look out for Mirren on the back of a motorcycle at one point and later wielding a shotgun.) Sutherland’s character, John, has Alzheimer’s disease, and his wife, Ella (Mirren), uses their time traveling together to try and remind him of the man he used to be — with results that are both comical and heartbreaking.

Directed by Paolo Virzi (Like Crazy), the film opens in select theaters on March 9, 2018.
