The live show will span 23 cities in 14 countries
Fast & Furious is coming to an arena near you.
After Vin Diesel teased a “state of the art” live show for the franchise last month, Universal and Fast Live Productions have announced dates for the global arena tour. The first stop is on Jan. 19, 2018, in London.
The official announcement teases that the show will transport fans straight into the world of Fast & Furious via a recreation of memorable moments from the film, as well as a new story and set of stunts (including “precision performance driving” and “state-of-the-art 3-D projection mapping”). The show will span 23 cities in 14 countries, with tickets going on sale Sept. 29.
“Fast & Furious Live will allow audiences worldwide to experience the extreme action sequences from the franchise through an authentic live experience,” Vince Klaseus, president of Universal Brand Development, said in a statement. “With this live show, we are redefining fan access and bringing audiences closer than ever to their favorite movie moments.”
Diesel held a Facebook Live event in August in which he spoke about the project, which was first announced back in February. “As you know, my work with Fast & Furious never ends,” he said at the time. “I am in New York, believe it or not, and we are filming something that is going to be pretty state of the art — something no one’s ever seen before, which is a live show.”
The billion-dollar Fast & Furious franchise is showing no signs of hitting the brakes — there are at least two more movies planned, with Fast 9 slated for release in April 2019. More details on the tour can be found here.
