Irish film will receive its world premier at Toronto

Set against the backdrop of life on the border between Southern and Northern Ireland, the Irish gang thriller Kissing Candice stars Ann Skelly in the title role of a 17-year-old Candice, who longs to escape the boredom of her seaside town, only finding solace in her vivid imagination. Increasingly obsessed with a troubled stranger, she becomes entangled with a dangerous local gang.

Kissing Candice is written and directed by Aoife McArdle, whose credits include the music video for U2’s “Every Breaking Wave,” and costars Ryan Lincoln, Ryan McParland, Conall Keating, and Tony Doyle.

Kissing Candice will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday. Watch an exclusive clip from the film above.
