Telluride Horror Show to screen Creep 2 and Daniel Radcliffe's Jungle
The Colorado fright fest takes place Oct. 13-15
This year’s Telluride Horror Show will host the U.S. premiere of Creep 2 and the Colorado premiere of Jungle, a survival thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe, EW can exclusively reveal.
Creep 2, a sequel to 2014’s Creep, stars Desiree Akhavan as a video artist who drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man (Mark Duplass) claiming to be a serial killer. The film is directed by Patrick Brice, who helmed and costarred with Duplass in the original, and will be released digitally, Oct. 24.
In Jungle, Radcliffe portrays a young adventurer who travels into the Amazon wilderness with two friends and a guide with a mysterious past, only for the journey to turn into a terrifying ordeal. Based on real events, the film is directed by Greg McLean, whose credits include The Belko Experiment and the Wolf Creek movies.
Other films announced in this year’s first wave of programming include the Psycho shower scene documentary 78/52; director Adam Green’s secretly made Hatchet reboot Victor Crowley; Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s mind-bender of a cult drama The Endless; and Joe Lynch’s action-horror film Mayhem, about a virus that prevents the infected from controlling their inhibitions.
In his role as this year’s Vault Keeper, Starship Troopers producer and Trailers from Hell guru Jon Davison will present a 35mm technicolor print of Mario Bava’s film The Whip and the Body as well as a hand-picked collection of vintage horror trailers for a special Telluride edition of Trailers From Hell. This year’s guest host is Alamo Drafthouse and Birth Movies Death editorial director Meredith Borders. The Telluride Horror Show will take place Oct. 13-15 in Telluride, Colorado.
“This first wave would be enough to fill a weekend, but we’ve got much, much more to come!” festival director Ted Wilson said in a statement. “Trust us when we say this is going to be the biggest, most exciting Telluride Horror Show yet … heads will spin!”
