Alien monsters and drug madness collide in Welcome to Willits trailer
Horror-comedy opens Sept. 22
“It just says they’re ‘missing’ — doesn’t say they’re dead.”
“You ever hear of someone going missing in the woods, showing up two months later, roasting marshmallows?”
The new IFC Midnight horror-comedy Welcome to Willits is set in an off-the-grid town deep in the woods of Northern California, which, according to the film, is a haven for marijuana growers, meth addicts, and conspiracy theorists. When a group of vacationing friends unknowingly set up their campsite on the property of Willits’ most disturbed resident — a psychotic, drug-addled pot farmer convinced extraterrestrials are out to get him — things go awry.
Welcome to Willits is the feature debut of director Trevor Ryan and stars Dolph Lundgren, Garrett Clayton, Chris Zylka, Thomas Dekker, and the always watchable Bill Sage (Hap and Leonard, We Are What We Are).
IFC Midnight is releasing Welcome to Willits in select theaters, on VOD, and via digital platforms on Sept. 22.
