First footage from director Adam Green's 'Hatchet' reboot
It’s been 10 years in the universe of the Hatchet slasher franchise since swamp-dwelling monster Victor Crowley murdered dozens of people. But he doesn’t seem to be any less murder-y in the first teaser trailer for Victor Crowley, the secretly-shot fourth film in the series, which writer-director Adam Green unveiled at Hollywood’s ArcLight Cinema on Tuesday night.
In the film, we discover that Parry Shen’s lone survivor Andrew Yong has spent over a decade claiming that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the deaths of the 49 people killed in the original trilogy of films. Yong’s allegations have been met with widespread disbelief, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past. Victor Crowley costars Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), Brian Quinn (truTV’s Impractical Jokers), and Kane Hodder, who reprises his role as the titular slasher villain.
Victor Crowley is screening at the upcoming FrightFest festival in London. In October, Green will embark on a “Victor Crowley Road Show” during which he will introduce the film at special one-night screening events across the U.S. A full schedule of screenings and additional release information will follow. The film was produced by Green’s ArieScope Pictures and Dark Sky Films.
