James Gunn reveals 'favorite moment' from Slither shoot
The horror film starring Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, and Elizabeth Banks is now available on Blu-ray
James Gunn’s directorial debut, the hugely entertaining 2006 horror-comedy Slither, finally debuted on Blu-ray earlier this month. So, when Gunn jumped on the phone to talk about the home entertainment release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, your writer asked the filmmaker to recall his favorite moment from the film, in which Nathan Fillion plays a small time cop facing off against Michael Rooker’s alien-possessed local.
“Slither was a very, very difficult shoot,” said Gunn. “But some of those people are still my best friends, obviously. Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, Elizabeth Banks — they’re still people that I see all the time and love dearly. My favorite moment was probably going out to dinner with those guys, and also Gregg Henry, [at] an expensive sushi restaurant in Vancouver, and Michael Rooker kung fu-kicking himself in the face somehow, and breaking his glasses.”
The Blu-ray of Slither is now available to buy at the Scream Factory website. Watch the film’s trailer, above.
