The 'Clerks' director teared up over conclusion of the superhero sequel
“Strong men also cry,” a wise man once said. Well, actually, the man in question was David Huddleston‘s in many ways un-wise titular character in the Coen brothers’ 1998 classic, The Big Lebowski. But the point stands and has been reaffirmed by Kevin Smith.
On Wednesday, the director of Clerks, Dogma, and Tusk posted a video of himself crying as he watched the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While there are some who might arch an eyebrow at such behavior, your writer is not among them, and nor is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 writer-director James Gunn, who reposted the clip while hailing it as “one of my favorite things ever.”
You can watch that (spoiler-heavy) video of Smith above, and a trailer for the film’s home entertainment release, below.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is now available to watch digitally on HD, 4K Ultra HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere and will be released physically on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on Aug. 22.
