Jared Leto in early talks to star in Bloodshot comic book adaptation
Sony is bringing the lethal Valiant character to the big screen
Jared Leto is taking aim at Bloodshot.
The Suicide Squad star and Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner is in early talks to play the title role in Sony’s big-screen adaptation of the Valiant comic, EW has confirmed.
First published in 1992, Bloodshot centers on a former soldier whose memories are erased and his body is injected with nanotechnology that grants him enhanced strength, speed, and healing abilities.
Dave Wilson is attached to direct the movie, which was initially announced in 2015 as part of an ambitious plan to create a five-film franchise. Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe are producing.

Leto is, of course, no stranger to comic book characters, having played the Joker in Suicide Squad. His other upcoming films include the sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2049 and the Japan-set crime thriller The Outsider.
