A new psychotic game has begun in the first trailer for Jigsaw, the latest sequel in the Saw horror franchise, but the old rules still apply: “Live or die. The choice is yours.”

Fans got a glimpse of one of the sadistic scenarios in a first look image: a new cast of characters find themselves chained up in a room with buckets on their heads. Now we know why. A mechanism slowly pulls their chains closer to a wall of spinning saw blades until someone is inevitably sliced and diced.

More trials awaiting these victims include a sand trap with blades falling from above, something involving three syringes (it seems the Jigsaw Killer will provoke the group to turn on each other), and a motorcycle deathtrap.

“You know what happens if we don’t follow the rules,” one victim reminds us. Yup, we sure do.

“We’ve got some pretty wild traps in the film — we don’t shy away from the gore,” Michael Spierig, who directs the film with Peter Spierig, told EW. “It’s such a perfect Halloween scare-fest. It’s perhaps not quite as vicious and more fun, which is something we tried to inject into it. But it’s still full of good fun gore, that’s for sure. And, on top of that, it’s got a really great mystery, and there are very interesting twists. It’s Saw for 2017.”

The cast includes Matt Passmore, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, Hannah Emily Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, Mandela Van Peebles, Paul Braunstein, Brittany Allen, and Josiah Black.

Jigsaw will open in theaters Oct. 27. Watch the trailer above.
