This year’s Harry Dean Stanton Fest — a celebration of the great character actor — will take place Sept. 28-30, it was announced today. As usual, the annual tribute to the Kentuckian will be held in Lexington.

The event will kick off with a red-carpet premiere of Stanton’s new film Lucky at The Kentucky Theater, which will be attended by the movie’s director, John Carroll Lynch. Musician and actor John Doe, who appeared alongside Stanton in director Wayne Wang’s 1987 thriller Slam Dance, will also be attending this year’s festival.

The Harry Dean Stanton Fest was first held in 2011. Previous guests have included Brad Dourif, director Monte Hellman, and Stanton himself, who appeared at the 2014 festival. Earlier this year, Kris Kristofferson introduced a screening of Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid at the Kentucky Theatre to help raise funds for the Fest.
