Elle Fanning, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nat Wolff lend voices to inspiring Leap! trailer
The animated film dances its way into theaters on Aug. 30
If you enjoy animated tales of cute, wistful characters in France with big dreams, but couldn't quite get behind the rat in Ratatouille, then Leap! might be just the thing. Here, it's a young girl instead of a rodent, and her dreams center around becoming a dancer in Paris — and you can see more of her adventures in the film's latest trailer.
In the film, Félicie (voiced by Elle Fanning) travels to the French capital with her wannabe-inventor best pal (voiced by Paper Towns' Nat Wolff), and through various pitfalls, pratfalls and assumed identities, finds herself in the Opera Ballet School, under the tutelage of the austere Odette (Carly Rae Jepsen).
This fresh-looking, non-Pixar and non-Illumination export from Canada has much up its sleeve, aside from the fact that it's another tale of an unlikely hero who learns never to give up on her dreams. One of those extra elements is Jepsen, giving us the one-two punch of her infectious track "Cut to the Feeling" being featured in the trailer, as well as voicing the part of Odette. Plus, there's Maddie Ziegler (Dance Moms, The Book of Henry), voicing a Regina George–style rival.
