Thanks to the magic of the internet, we’ve seen what 1993’s Groundhog Day might look like as a horror film. But now we’re getting a slasher film version from Hollywood.

The new Happy Death Day trailer arrives with a story about a college student who relives the day of her murder over and over again. The first footage from the film (directed by Paranormal Activity: The Marked One‘s Christopher Landon) arrived earlier this week, but the full-length preview sees more of this woman’s efforts to hunt down clues as to who’s behind the masked man coming to kill her.

The film, once titled Half to Death, hails from Blumhouse, the same folks behind low-budget but noteworthy horror offerings like Get Out, Hush, The Visit, and the Purge movies. Jessica Rothe, spotted in La La Land, plays Tree, the unfortunate soul forced to relive her worst nightmare until she discovers her killer’s identity.

Happy Death Day is coming on Friday, Oct. 13. Watch the trailer above.
