Here's an exclusive first look at the final promo
When he’s not stopping crime and keeping the neighborhood friendly, Spider-Man has to fight for his right to party.
In a series of promos for the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film, Tom Holland’s teenage Peter Parker has been geeking out over an invitation to Stark Tower to watch the big game with the big man: Iron Man.
The spots costar Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s majordomo, and Robert Downey Jr. turns up for cameos as well. There’s also an appearance by NBA great and apparent saltines enthusiast Tim Duncan — and Spidey comes face-to-face with MJ. (You’ll see what that means.)
Is any of this canon? Uh, maybe? There aren’t any major plot points given away. But it is rare for a new film to create this much special footage for an event-specific promo.
ESPN CreativeWorks and Sony Pictures collaborated on the shorts, which were directed by Homecoming filmmaker Jon Watts, and they feature the new ability to weave in a highlight from the game just moments after it played out on the court.
Here’s the full sequence, with an exclusive first look at tonight’s clip at the bottom:
