Jeffrey Dean Morgan has seen his fair share of apocalyptic mayhem as Negan on The Walking Dead, so a bunch of genetically enhanced animals shouldn’t be too much of a problem. The actor was revealed in character alongside Dwayne Johnson and Naomie Harris in the latest set photo from Rampage, the upcoming movie based on the arcade game classic.

“Rampaging nights with my partners in crime,” Johnson wrote of his co-stars. Morgan plays “the cowboy himself,” an agent “from the OGA – the ‘other’ government agency.”

The film, directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas), tells of three animals that fall victim to evil genetic manipulation and mutate into large and highly aggressive beasts. One of these animals, an albino gorilla named George, is the best friend of Johnson’s Davis Okoye, “the animal loving anti-poacher Ranger from Rwanda,” as the actor described.

Keeping his fans on Instagram up to date with the latest set snaps, Johnson also revealed a look at actor Jason Liles, portraying George through motion-capture wizardry.

“In this scene,” Johnson wrote, “our Oscar winning Weta Digital (Lord of the Rings, Avatar etc) is using their ground breaking ‘performance capture’ to bring ‘George’ the Silverback to life. It uses over 30 special cameras to ‘see’ the performance of my co-actor @tallie7487 allowing the digital artists to make the most realistic and badass animations possible.”

Also featuring Malin Åkerman, Joe Manganiello, and Jake Lacy, Rampage is set for theaters on April 20, 2018.
