Lightning McQueen makes his comeback in Cars 3 trailer
'I decide when I'm done'
All happy cars are alike; each unhappy car is unhappy in its own way.
Lightning McQueen, who once bore the happiest of smiles when he zoomed around at the zenith of racing, is figuring out what it means to be both when Cars 3 rolls into theaters on June 16.
Disney/Pixar has just dropped a brand new trailer for the second Cars sequel, which finds McQueen (Owen Wilson) feeling the pain of his age after he’s sidelined by a disastrous turn on the track. Although McQueen insists he’s still far from through with racing, the reality of his potential re-ascension in the sport means following the guidance of a hip young trainer (Cristela Alonzo) and keeping up with the new rules of racing set by hotshot drivers like Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer).
Cars 3 also stars Nathan Fillion (as Sterling, the savvy new sponsor of McQueen’s brand), Kerry Washington (as sports analyst Natalie Certain), and Lea DeLaria (as a demolition derby queen, Miss Fritter).
