Meet the man who “created Donald Trump as a political figure.”

Netflix debuted the first trailer for Get Me Roger Stone, a new documentary about the political strategist who’s been slammed for his “incredibly capacity for treachery,” his “win-at-all-costs mentality,” and creating “the modern sleazeball lobbyist.” President Trump, who was interviewed for the film, says of his longtime friend and advisor in the footage, “He loves the game, he has fun with it, and he’s very good at it.”

And what does Stone, the guy who says he “suggested that Trump should explore a bid for the presidency,” think about all this negative publicity? “I revel in your hatred,” he says, “because if I weren’t effective, you wouldn’t hate me.”

Directed by Dylan Bank, Daniel DiMauro, and Morgan Pehme, Get Me Roger Stone delves into the transformation of American politics with a focus on the controversial figure who plotted the rise of Trump. Blair Foster, Lisa Nishimura, Jason Spingarn-Koff, and Adam Del Deo executive produce the film, which will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

The film will hit Netflix on May 12. As Fox News’ host Tucker Carlson puts it, “America may be collapsing, but Roger Stone is determined to enjoy it.”
