In the new horror-thriller Berlin Syndrome, Teresa Palmer from Warm Bodies and Lights Out plays an Australian photographer named Clare who meets a charismatic local, Andi (Max Riemelt), while vacationing in Berlin. There is an instant attraction between them and a night of passion ensues. But, what initially appears to be the start of a romance, takes an unexpected and sinister turn when Clare wakes the following morning to discover Andi has left for work and locked her in his apartment. An easy mistake to make, of course — except Andi has no intention of letting her go again. Ever.

We’re sure the Germans have a word for that!

Berlin Syndrome is directed by Cate Shortland and written by Shaun Grant, from a novel by Melanie Joosten.

The film will be released in cinemas by Vertical Entertainment on May 26. You can exclusively watch the trailer for Berlin Syndrome, above.
