Today was a good day… to run from Godzilla.

Straight Outta Compton breakout O’Shea Jackson Jr. is in talks to star in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, EW has confirmed.

Jackson joins the growing cast for Michael Dougherty’s (Krampus) follow-up to Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla reboot. Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Vera Farmiga are already on board.

The Godzilla sequel would mark the most high-profile role yet for Jackson, the son of Ice Cube, since he made his film debut in the 2015 hit Straight Outta Compton, the biopic of the legendary rap group N.W.A., in which he played his father.

With the upcoming Godzilla sequel and the recent release of Kong: Skull Island, Legendary and Warner Bros. are paving the way for an epic 2020 showdown in Godzilla vs. Kong.

Variety first reported the news.
