Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott are going to war for Netflix.

The Oscar nominated actor is set to star in the Netflix original film War Party, which will be produced by Scott, EW has confirmed. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford filmmaker Andrew Dominik will direct and co-write the script with Harrison Query.

While the plot details are being kept under wraps, The Hollywood Reporter said the project will be based on real events and centered on a group of Navy SEALs.

War Party reteams Hardy with Scott, who serves as executive producer on Taboo, the FX period series in which Hardy is the star, co-creator, and executive producer. The show, which is a co-production with BBC One, was recently renewed for a second season.

Next up for Hardy is another war drama in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk. Meanwhile, Scott is returning to familiar territory with Alien: Covenant, set for release on May 19.

Deadline first reported the news.
