Love Actually sequel photos tease Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley's return
Emma Freud is the producer who keeps on giving.
Now that filming has wrapped on the upcoming Love Actually sequel — a 10-minute special dubbed Red Nose Day Actually — Freud has shared yet another batch of photos from the set, teasing the return of actors Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
“Love still all around on set yesterday,” Freud tweeted Wednesday, as well as sharing a picture from the film’s final day of shooting.
In another behind-the-scenes look, Lincoln can be seen holding cue cards similar to the ones he used to bid a romantic farewell to Knightley’s character at the tail end of the 2003 romantic comedy.
“It was 13 years ago. There is more facial hair now. But he still loves her,” Freud wrote.
Last weekend, Freud whetted fan anticipation by tweeting a few shots of Hugh Grant as he filmed scenes for the made-for-TV short, which is set to premiere as part of U.K. charity Comic Relief’s biennial comedy fundraiser. It will air March 24 (otherwise known as Red Nose Day) in the U.K. and May 25 on NBC in the U.S.
Nearly 14 years after the original film’s release, most of Love Actually‘s cast has returned for the sequel, including Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke, Olivia Olson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Rowan Atkinson. Richard Curtis, who helmed the first Love Actually, reclaimed his spot in the director’s chair for the mini sequel alongside co-director Mat Whitecross. Oscar-nominated costume designer Joanna Johnston (Lincoln, Allied) also worked on the project.
