There are plenty of fish in the sea, and plenty of Little Mermaid movies too.

Case in point: The first trailer has been released for a new live-action adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, and it’s not the one from Disney and Lin-Manuel Miranda, nor the other one Universal was developing developing with Chloë Moretz in 2015.

Hailing from Conglomerate Media and Kingsway Productions, this film follows a young girl (Loreto Peralta) and her reporter brother (William Moseley) as they travel to a small Mississippi town to meet a woman believed to be a mermaid of legend (Poppy Drayton).

Blake Harris wrote the script and co-directed with Chris Bouchard. The cast also includes Shirley MacLaine, Gina Gershon, and Armando Gutierrez.

The Little Mermaid is slated for release this summer. Watch the trailer above.
