Beauty and the Beast is tracking as the fastest-selling family film in history, according to online ticket leader Fandango.
The Disney title is exceeding presales by the previous family targeted record holder for the company, which was Finding Dory.
“Beauty is a beast in presales, and I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people,” Fandango managing editor Erik Davis tells EW. “It’s looking bigger than most Disney live-action adaptations, like The Jungle Book, Cinderella, or Maleficent. Its presales rival those of a superhero movie.”
Indeed, the live-action remake is doing better than Captain America: Civil War was at this point in the sales cycle, with many showtimes selling out. Civil War to $180 million at the box office.
According to a previous survey, Beauty and the Beast was ranked the third most-anticipated film of 2017, followed by Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Earlier estimates for the film were already pretty high, with Deadline reporting last month that Beauty and the Beast could open to $120 million. (The film arrives in theaters on March 17.)

The news comes following some controversy surrounding Beauty and the Beast after an Alabama theater canceled its screening of the film due to the inclusion of a gay character — villain Gaston’s (Luke Evans) sidekick LeFou (Josh Gad). PEOPLE interviewed Gad about the subject, and the actor said, “This film is one of inclusiveness. It’s one that has something to offer everyone.”
