Kristen Stewart is contemplating a deep dive.
EW has confirmed that the erstwhile Twilight star and recent Saturday Night Live host is in talks to star in Underwater, a subsea thriller in the works at Fox.
Will Eubank (The Signal) is directing the film, which centers on an underwater scientific crew fighting for survival after a disastrous earthquake. Brian Duffield (Insurgent, Jane Got a Gun) wrote the script.
Stewart would play the film’s lead character, a hardened crew member. Production is expected to start next month in New Orleans.
Stewart’s recent credits include Café Society and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, and her other upcoming projects include the psychological thriller Personal Shopper and the Lizzie Borden biopic Lizzie.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
