Twenty-five years ago Tuesday, Wayne’s World arrived in theaters. A Valentine’s Day gift for the ages, the Lorne Michaels-produced flick starred Mike Myers and Dana Carvey as Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar, respectively, two excellent dudes running a public-access TV show out of a basement in Aurora, Ill.
Adapted from a Saturday Night Live sketch, Wayne’s World brought in $183 million over the course of its theatrical run. Decades later, the movie’s legacy lives on, inspiring viewers to party on well past the ’90s.
