Dr. Hank Pym is already grooming his goatee. Michael Douglas confirmed his return for the Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, with a Facebook post on Friday.

The actor previously said, "I welcome it," when asked about a potential return. "They want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought, ‘That's great!'" he explained. "Hopefully, I won't have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one, but I had a wonderful time doing it."

Douglas has now made his return official, while pinpointing a summer start of production. "Getting ready to play Dr. Pym again in Ant-Man 2 shooting in July," he wrote. "Need to start growing the goatee now." <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMichaelDouglasOfficial%2Fposts%2F1296569953771151%3A0&amp;width=500" width="500" height="606" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" class="" allowfullscreen="" resize="0" replace_attributes="1" name=""></iframe>

Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne are also returning for Ant-Man and The Wasp, marking the first time a woman will headline a Marvel Studios film ahead of Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. In an Ant-Man post-credits scene, Dr. Pym finally gives Hope her own Wasp superhero suit, prompting the apt response, "It's about damn time."

Beginning this year with Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel will be releasing three films annually — which means Ant-Man and The Wasp production will likely overlap with others.

The film, directed by Peyton Reed, will open in theaters on July 6, 2018, a year that will also see premieres for Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, both currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.
