Dan Stevens takes a dark turn in The Ticket trailer
The 'Beauty and the Beast' star plays a blind man who regains his sight
Dan Stevens is having a moment. The actor, who garnered buzz for his horror thriller The Guest, stars in FX’s Legion and will appear on the big screen again in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Now, another of his next projects, The Ticket, has a dark and haunting trailer.
The film, which marks director Ido Fluk’s first American feature, is a story of James, a blind man whose restored sight propels him down a selfishly ambitious path. Determined to make a better life for himself in light of this miracle, he slowly leaves his loved ones to fall by the wayside as he acquires a new house, new clothes, new job, and new affair.
As we glimpse in the trailer, he may never be able to regain what he lost.
“It was very much Ido’s intention to explore something unexpected,” Stevens told EW after The Ticket‘s debut at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. “It ultimately comes from this question of prayer and faith and what happens when your prayers are answered or not. I think it’s something that James struggles to come to terms with.
The Ticket, opening April 7, also stars Malin Akerman, Kerry Bishé, and Oliver Platt.
