The zords have risen. Lionsgate has released the final poster for the upcoming Power Rangers movie, and the five teenagers with attitude are calling upon the heavy artillery.
Aside from the latest trailer, fans haven’t had much zord time. The character posters from New York Comic-Con kept them to the side, while subsequent marketing material shrouded them in mist. With now less than two months to go before Power Rangers hits theaters, the time for hiding has passed.
The film brings a more serious tone to the beloved Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers TV series from the ’90s. Dacre Montgomery pilots the Tyrannosaurus zord as Red Ranger Jason; Naomie Scott pilots the Pterodactyl as Pink Ranger Kimberly; RJ Cyler pilots the Triceratops as Blue Ranger Billy; Becky G harnesses the Saber Tooth Tiger as Yellow Ranger Trini; and Ludi Lin helms the Mastodon as Black Ranger Zack.
These troubled teens are recruited by an extraterrestrial entity, Zordon (voiced by Bryan Cranston), to take on Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) with their enhanced abilities, armor, and giant robots. Bill Hader also features as the voice of Zordon’s A.I. helper Alpha 5.
