Dominic West is joining Alicia Vikander in the new Tomb Raider movie.
The Wire alum, who currently stars on The Affair, has signed on to play Lara Croft’s father in the upcoming MGM and Warner Bros. reboot, EW has confirmed. Vikander is already on board as the adventurous archaeologist, and West will play her powerful father, Lord Richard Croft, a British aristocrat and fellow archaeologist.
The Wave director Roar Uthaug is helming this new adaptation of the best-selling video game franchise, which was first launched in 1996. Angelina Jolie previously played Croft in both the 2001 and 2003 films, with her real-life father, Jon Voight, playing Richard.
The new Tomb Raider will follow a young Croft, who’s following in her father’s footsteps and just setting out on her first adventure. Walter Goggins is on board as the film’s villain, and the film will hit theaters on March 16, 2018.
