HFPA partners with Dick Clark Productions and the social network for a two-hour red carpet event
The Golden Globes red carpet could be more accessible than ever this awards season.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Monday it will partner with Twitter and Dick Clark Productions to exclusively live stream The HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet Live on Sunday, Jan. 8 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET on the platform.
Twitter users in the U.S. — both active tweeters and logged-out audience members — will be able to stream official pre-show coverage live from the The Beverly Hilton on goldenglobes.twitter.com, in the Twitter Moments section, and on the Golden Globes Twitter account.
Hosts, who’ve yet to be announced, will source questions from Twitter users for exclusive interviews with the stars as well as celebrity-focused content for the social media giant.
“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is always searching for innovative ways and original tools to reach our audience wherever it is as Hollywood comes together on one night to celebrate the best in motion pictures and television – and Twitter is the recognized partner to help us expand our audience,” Lorenzo Soria, president of the HFPA, said via press statement. “With the community that Twitter has built, together we will bring the magic of the Golden Globe Awards red carpet to the homes and eyes of aspiring storytellers across the country.”
Jimmy Fallon hosts the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards live telecast beginning Sunday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT. Check out the full list of 2017 Golden Globe nominees here.
