Steven Spielberg, a filmmaker who started his career capturing the wonder and adventure of childhood, turned 70-years-old Sunday.

There’s no burnishing necessary for his legacy of films: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Lincoln

But in tribute to the Oscar-winning director on his birthday, Entertainment Weekly presents this extended tour with Spielberg through the Universal backlot. If you’ve seen the 10-minute video here, the audio below provides the extended version — a full hour with the filmmaker.

Among other topics, he jokes about one title from his past that he hopes people won’t revisit: the 1970s paranormal TV movie Something Evil. Overall, he provides surprising insights into a career that has delivered dozens of movies that will undoubtedly stand the test of time. Listen below.
