What would happen if Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs fused with something like Shane Black’s The Nice Guys? Probably Free Fire. Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, and Sharlto Copley star in this 1970s-set shoot-em-up comedy, and the first red band trailer has now arrived.

Directed by Ben Wheatley (High-Rise), Free Fire recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. As the story goes, two gangs (the gun-runners and the buyers) meet in an abandoned warehouse to exchange firearms, but the drop goes horribly, hilariously wrong. They are all then locked in an intense shootout made all the more enjoyable to watch by the ’70s-era comedy that ensues.

Larson, still basking in the glow of her Room Oscar win and high-profile casting in Captain Marvel, stars as the only woman of the shootout. Hammer, Copley, Cilian Murphy, Sam Riley, Enzo Cilenti, Michael Smiley, Babou Ceesay, and Jack Raynor help round out the other angry men.

Free Fire was acquired by A24 (the home of Larson’s Room) back in March.
