Lil Nas X, BTS and Nas joined forces for epic ‘Old Town Road’ Grammy performance
The performance dubbed "Old Town Road All-Stars" lit up the Grammys stage
Lil Nas X delivered an epic performance with a touch of The Matrix during “Old Town Road” at the Grammys.
The viral rap sensation took the stage Sunday night and performed what was called “Old Town Road All-Stars,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey and a surprise appearance by rapper Nas. The group performed on a revolving stage as Lil Nas X passed by the featured artists on his famed track in separate rooms, with an added twist toward the end. Lil Nas X briefly left and returned to the stage in a Matrix-inspired suit and began the 7 track “Rodeo” with rapper Nas.
This was Lil Nas X first appearance at the Grammys. At the red carpet, Lil Nas X slayed with a fluorescent pink cowboy outfit studded from head to toe. Lil Nas X was nominated six times, including for record for the year and best new artist. Lil Nas X has already won tonight for Best Music Video and Best Pop Duo/Group performance for “Old Town Road” (Remix) The 20-year-old broke records a year ago when “Old Town Road” took the longest run ever at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, holding on the all-genre chart for 17 weeks in a row.
“It’s a continuation of beyond real moments. I’m super thankful and blessed,” Lil Nas X told Jeremy Parsons and Janine Rubenstein at the EW/People Red Carpet Live: At the Grammy Awards before the ceremony.
Other Grammy performers include Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, and Demi Lovato.
