Eric McCormack (Will Truman)

After picking up credits for Lonesome Dove and Townies, Eric McCormack did an eight-year stint on Will & Grace as Will Truman.

Following his Emmy-winning run as the New York City lawyer with a soft spot for his best friend Grace, McCormack continued his TV work, booking gigs on The Andromeda Strain, Trust Me, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Pound Puppies, Perception, Full Circle, and Travelers, with additional roles in films like 2009's Alien Trespass and My One and Only. He reprised his role as Will Truman on the Will & Grace revival series from 2017 to 2020.

McCormack also expanded his work to the stage, following up early-2000s Broadway turns in The Music Man and The Play What I Wrote with one in Gore Vidal's The Best Man in 2012.

Debra Messing (Grace Adler)

Debra Messing starred opposite McCormack as Will & Grace's other title character, Grace Adler. The Emmy winner, who had previous credits for NYPD Blue, Seinfeld, Ned and Stacey, and Prey, played the interior design through the show's 2006 wrap, in addition to the revival series.

She went on to lend her voice to Open Season (2006), hit the big screen in Purple Violets (2007), Lucky You (2007), The Women (2008), Nothing Like the Holidays (2008), Searching (2018), and Bros (2022), and continued her small-screen work on The Starter Wife, Smash, and The Mysteries of Laura.

Megan Mullally (Karen Walker)

After appearing in About Last Night... (1986) and on The Ellen Burstyn Show and Rachel Gunn, R.N., Megan Mullally stole the show on Will & Grace as the gang's socialite friend, Karen Walker, earning two Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Mullally followed up the gig with turns on How I Met Your Mother; In the Motherhood; Party Down; Breaking In; 30 Rock; Happy Endings; Web Therapy; Parks and Recreation; You, Me and the Apocalypse; and Childrens Hospital.

She also returned for the Will & Grace revival, and has hosted multiple award shows including the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards.

Sean Hayes (Jack McFarland)

Sean Hayes landed his first major onscreen role in Will & Grace, and earned an Emmy for it, playing Will's college friend Jack McFarland. He then spent the 2000s picking up credits for The Bucket List (2007), Soul Men (2008), and episodes of Campus Ladies and 30 Rock.

Hayes stepped behind the camera as an executive producer for Hollywood Game Night, Sean Saves the World, Hot in Cleveland, Grimm, and Crowded, also adding to his acting résumé with roles in The Three Stooges (2012), Hit and Run (2012), and Monsters University (2013), and on shows like Up All Night, Smash, and The Millers.

Hayes returned for the Will & Grace revival and has also turned to hosting, stepping in for a week on Jimmy Kimmel Live and cohosting the popular podcast SmartLess with Will Arnett and Jason Bateman.

Shelley Morrison (Rosario Salazar)

Shelley Morrison

Will & Grace found its Rosario Salazar in Shelley Morrison, who'd previously appeared on The Flying Nun and Courthouse.

After wrapping her run as Karen's maid, Morrison popped up in episodes of My Name Is Earl and Handy Manny, also lending her voice to Foodfight! (2012) and Generator Rex. Morrison died in 2019 at the age of 83.

Harry Connick Jr. (Marvin "Leo" Markus)

With more than a dozen albums and credits in Memphis Belle (1990), Copycat (1995), Excess Baggage (1997), and Hope Floats (1998) to his name, Harry Connick Jr. joined Will & Grace as Grace's eventual husband Leo Markus.

He followed up the gig with additional studio albums and a continued acting career with subsequent credits for Bug (2006), P.S. I Love You (2007), New in Town (2009), Dolphin Tale (2011), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Angels Sing (2013). The star also acted as a judge on American Idol for seasons 13–15, hosted his own talk show, Harry, from 2016 to 2018, and played Daddy Warbucks on NBC's Annie Live! (2021).

Leigh-Allyn Baker (Ellen)

Leigh-Allyn Baker signed on to play Ellen on Will & Grace, a close friend of the title characters.

The Charmed alum went on to appear in episodes of In Case of Emergency, 12 Miles of Bad Road, Back at the Barnyard, and Good Luck Charlie, and lent her voice to Jake and the Never Land Pirates and The 7D. Her voice career has extended to video games as well, with credits in Mass Effect and Halo Wars.

Tom Gallop (Rob)

After appearing on Hudson Street, Tom Gallop starred opposite Baker as Will & Grace's Rob. During his run as a pal to Will and Grace, Gallop earned credits for Oh Baby; ER; Rude Awakening; Push, Nevada; CSI: Crime Scene Investigation; and The Bourne Supremacy (2004).

After the Will & Grace finale, he returned to his role of Tom Cronin in The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), also popping up in episodes of Burn Notice, American Horror Story, Bones, The Mentalist, Suits, and All Rise.

Bobby Cannavale (Vince D'Angelo)

Will finally met his match in Vince D'Angelo, portrayed by Bobby Cannavale, who had prior credits for Trinity, Gloria (1999), Third Watch, 100 Centre Street, Ally McBeal, Kingpin, and The Station Agent (2003).

After winning an Emmy for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2005 for playing Vince, the infamous "funky spunk" Sex and the City alum went on to book gigs for Fast Food Nation (2006), 10 Items or Less (2006), The Take (2007), 100 Feet (2008), Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009), Cupid, Cold Case, Boardwalk Empire, Parker (2013), Lovelace (2013), Nurse Jackie, Chef (2014), Adult Beginners (2014), Ant-Man (2015), Vinyl, Mr. Robot, Nine Perfect Strangers, and The Watcher.
