The 1996 Premiere of Space Jam
Twenty years ago Tuesday, Space Jam arrived in theaters. Starring Michael Jordan, Wayne Knight, Theresa Randle, Bill Murray, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Shawn Bradley, and Larry Johnson, among others, the sports comedy followed a basketball game for the ages as the Tune Squad faced off against the Monstars. The Warner Bros. flick, which featured famous animated characters from Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to Elmer Fudd and Marvin the Martian, brought in $230.42 million worldwide and even picked up a Grammy award for Best Song Written for Visual Media with R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly." In honor of Space Jam's 20th anniversary, see photos from the movie's 1996 premiere, ahead.
