Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard gave Toto a run for their money in 2016, when they put their own spin on the band’s 1982 hit. While on vacation in Africa, the two stars filmed a music video to the track, grooving alongside wildlife footage.

Kristen and Dax went viral in 2011, when Dax decided to celebrate Kristen’s birthday by surprising her with a sloth. A huge fan of the animals, Kristen broke down in tears before even meeting the sloth, overcome with emotion at the prospect.

Despite the fact that neither of them were nominated for anything at the 86th Academy Awards in 2014, Kristen and Dax remained the most gracious losers. Dax shared a photo of the couple from their seats in the Dolby Theatre, complete with epic cry faces.

Dax and Kristen got engaged in 2010 after dating for a few years. They were still not married more than two years later, however, explaining in interviews that they were waiting to tie the knot until their gay and lesbian friends were able to do the same. On June 26, 2013, after the Defense of Marriage Act was deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, Kristen tweeted at Dax, “will you marry me? Xo #marriageequality #loveislove,” to which he replied, “F–k Yes!!!!!!!!!!!”

A few months after tying the knot in an understated courthouse wedding, Kristen and Bell celebrated Christmas as a family with their two dogs. “Roll call! Boys in green, girls in red: @daxshepard1,” Kristen tweeted.

A longtime holdout from the social media platform, Kristen joined Instagram in early 2016. She celebrated the foray by sharing a photo of herself kissing Dax and captioning the shot, “I don’t know how to use instagram but I do like this picture.”

Dax and Kristen both took to Twitter in March 2013 to announce the birth of their first child. Born on March 28, 2013, Lincoln preceded her younger sister Delta, who was born in December 2014, and was celebrated by her parents for her lack of adult skills and her inherited traits.

Dax joined his wife in 2014’s Veronica Mars movie, playing an unnamed “Overconfident Club Boy.” He was a minor character to her namesake lead, and counted their third on-screen collaboration after 2010’s When in Rome and 2012’s Hit and Run.

Kristen and Dax used their own busy lives as inspiration for a 2016 Samsung commercial. The two stars are shown hurrying around as they plan a house party involving dozens of children. “We pretty much hold hands the whole day while we shoot because when we’re at home, it’s mano a mano,” Bell told People of filming the commercial. “One person’s got one kid, the other person’s got the other kid. So it’s a treat to get to shoot these things and work together.”

The two stars showed their love for Game of Thrones in 2016 in a big way. They donned fake tattoos, themed tank tops, and posed in front of a statue at the show’s premiere, as Dax captioned the shot, “Come correct.”

Those tank tops were so 2016. To celebrate the season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones, Kristen and Dax dressed as just about every major character and created a video of themselves pseudo-performing the iconic theme song.

Kristen opened up about her marriage to Dax in an interview with People in 2017. “We have a very healthy marriage and we got there by doing therapy when we needed it, and constantly doing fierce moral inventories,” she told the magazine. “We both take responsibility when we are wrong… I enjoy spending time with him and I trust him.”
