Jacob Tremblay, Awards Season MVP
Jacob Tremblay is having a very good year. The 9-year-old actor earned critical raves for his role in Room, and as the film has made its way through the awards season circuit so too has Tremblay, winning everyone’s hearts as he rubbed elbows with stars, gave charming speeches, and even showed off a few dance moves.
He may not have gotten an Oscar nomination (this year, at least), but if there was a category for 2016's awards season MVP, he’d have it locked down.

Celebrating His SAG Award Nomination with Ice Cream
He didn’t end up winning Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (more on that later), but when nominations were announced in December 2015, Tremblay celebrated properly: with a banana split.

Being the Best Cheerleader Ever for Brie Larson
Brie Larson, who plays Tremblay’s “Ma” in Room, bonded with her young costar over Star Wars, and it’s a bond that continued post-filming. “Congrats to the coolest girl in the world!!!!” he wrote after she won a Golden Globe at the 2016 ceremony.

Staging a Lightsaber Battle with Oscar Isaac
Being a 9-year-old Star Wars fan isn’t that uncommon, but being a 9-year-old Star Wars fan who gets to actually battle Poe Dameron at a Golden Globes afterparty certainly is.

Celebrating the Oscar Nominations for Room
Tremblay didn’t get an Oscar nod for Room, but he was happy to celebrate the four nominations it did receive — which he got all dressed up for and grabbed a copy of the film’s source material to do. "Congrats TEAM ROOM!!!" he wrote on Twitter. "We did it!!!"

His Charming Critics’ Choice Awards Speech…
Upon winning best young actor at the ceremony, Tremblay gave what’ll likely be the most adorable speech of the year. “This is super cool. This is the best day of my life,” he told the crowd, adding that he knew just the place to put the award: “on the shelf, right beside my Millennium Falcon.”

Presenting an Award (Adorably) at the SAG Awards
No sore losers here. After losing the supporting actor category to Beasts of No Nation's Idris Elba, Tremblay jokingly reminisced about it while presenting another category with Brie Larson later in the show. “I can still remember the first time I got nominated for a SAG Award,” he said. “I was only 9 years old, and I was competing against Batman.” (Christian Bale was also nominated in his category.)

Meeting Leonardo DiCaprio at the SAG Awards
The only thing better than this photo is the story Tremblay later told about getting it. "I just walked straight up to him and I noticed a huge line of people trying to meet him,” he said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “And I was just like, ‘Oh, I’m a kid. I can skip it.’ So I skipped it and just said, ‘Hi.’”

Presenting With Falcon (a.k.a. Anthony Mackie)
At the Independent Spirit Awards, Tremblay (jokingly) marveled that he got to present an award with his hero — a Marvel hero, to be exact. “Is it hard to fly with those heavy metal wings? Where’s Red Wing, your highly trained hunting falcon who joins you in battle against your enemies?” he asked Mackie on stage. (“It looks like we’re having a Santa Claus issue,” the Avengers actor replied.)
