Most Heroic Luke Skywalker
You'd think this would be a slam-dunk for Skywalker (shown here the way we first saw him, as a Tatooine farmboy in Episode IV), the Jedi who rescued Princess Leia, destroyed the Death Star, and brought Darth Vader back from the dark side of the Force. In fact, while Luke drew 37 percent of the vote, many of you also wanted to give props to Han Solo (23 percent) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (19 percent). Other major characters, including Yoda, R2-D2, and Leia, got handfuls of votes, proving that there's plenty of heroism to go around in this saga.

Most Annoying Jar Jar Binks
Meesa not surprised that Jar Jar, the oafish, shuffling, pidgin-speaking Gungan introduced as apparent comic relief in Episode I, got a whopping 79 percent of the vote. A far-distant second were the Ewoks, the warrior teddy bears of Episode VI, with 7 percent.

Most Evil Palpatine
Palpatine, the obscure senator from Naboo who craftily rises to the post of galactic chancellor (in Episode I) and ultimately emperor (in Episode III), doesn't have much use for democratic elections, but he won this one fair and square with 44 percent of the vote. Close behind was his right-hand man, Darth Vader (38 percent). Further down the list was Episode I's demonic-looking Darth Maul (8 percent).

Favorite Vehicle/Ship The Millennium Falcon
Not only did the Millennium Falcon famously make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs, but Han Solo's rickety yet speedy craft also proved crucial to the rebels' efforts in Episodes IV through VI. No wonder it earned 58 percent of the votes. The rebels' one-man X-Wing fighters appealed to 17 percent, while 12 percent favored the Imperial star destroyer, the ship that so impressively fills the frame at the beginning of Episode IV.

Favorite Planet Tatooine
Tatooine, the desert home of Anakin and Luke, and site of many adventures for C-3PO and R2-D2 (shown), won with 18 percent, but voters spread their love evenly across the galaxy. Naboo, homeworld of Amidala, Jar Jar, and Palpatine, drew 16 percent, while Hoth, the ice planet of Episode V, drew 15 percent. Galactic capital Coruscant and Endor, the Ewoks' home in Episode VI, tied with 14 percent each. Bespin, site of Lando Calrissian's Cloud City in Episode V, appealed to 10 percent, while 9 percent liked Dagobah, the swampy planet where Yoda trained Luke in the same film.

Best Battle The Battle of Yavin
Fans of the Battle of Yavin, the Episode IV climax where Luke Skywalker (shown) and his fellow X-Wing pilots launch a successful assault on the Death Star, barely won this battle, with 28 percent of the vote. Just one point behind, at 27 percent, was Hoth, site of a rare rebel defeat in Episode V. The destruction of the second Death Star at Episode VI's Battle of Endor was a close third with 23 percent. Episode II's Battle of Geonosis, where gladiatorial combat breaks out into all-out warfare, put up a good fight with 18 percent.

Best Lightsaber Duel Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul
Slashing the competition, with 34 percent, was the Episode I fight where Darth Maul (center), with his two-bladed sword, takes on Qui-Gon Jinn (left) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (right). Twenty-three percent enjoyed the surprising sight of Yoda getting medieval on Count Dooku in Episode II. The emotional and oedipal duels between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker nearly tied for third, with 19 percent favoring their climactic Episode VI rematch aboard the second Death Star and 17 percent picking the ''I am your father'' showdown at Cloud City in Episode V.

Favorite Jedi Yoda
Your favorite Jedi, Yoda is. Voted for the centuries-old green gnome, 36 percent of you did. Obi-Wan was close behind with 31 percent, while their mutual Padawan learner, Luke Skywalker, finished third with 17 percent.

Favorite Alien Chewbacca
A majority of voters, 53 percent, cuddled up to Wookiees, like the hirsute and heroic Chewbacca (shown). The similarly furry Ewoks, named second-most annoying characters in Question 2, were named second-favorite aliens here, with 13 percent of the vote. They tied with the bulb-headed musicians of the Mos Eisley cantina combo from Episode IV. By the way, according to the Star Wars Encyclopedia, their species has a name: they're called the Bith, and they come from planet Clak'dor VII in the Colu system, Mayagil sector. Thought you'd like to know.

Favorite Droid R2-D2
He's cute, he's plucky, he's a walking Swiss Army knife. What's not to love about R2-D2 (shown)? He's the overwhelming favorite of voters, with 81 percent. Only a fourth as many, 19 percent, picked his prissy pal C-3PO. Maybe he'd have done better if we'd polled Episode VI's Ewoks, who revere 3PO as a god.
