Hannibal's shut out

Network dramas shouldn't wave the white flag yet, at least when it comes to the EWwys: NBC's Hannibal defeated FX's Sons of Anarchy by 6,762Â…
Credit: Robert Trachtenberg/NBC

''HANNIBAL should be at the top of the list for snubs, not a runner-up. The Emmys is a horses--- political affair that only recognizes the shows that bow down and properly kiss their collective a--. Screw you, Emmys!'' —Scram

''I'm so annoyed. [Hannibal] is critically praised and has a huge fan following (not sure if that counts for anything). It's time that it got the recognition from the Emmys that it deserves. If anything, it should have been an obvious for outstanding cinematography. The show is a piece of art.'' —Tiffany Wilks

''Could not agree with you more. The cinematography on this show is better than a lot of MOVIES. It's just completely ridiculous that it received no love at all.'' —Corey

''ROBBED!! Hannibal should definitely be a Best Drama contender. Mads & Hugh being completely overlooked may not be surprising, but it's still ridiculous. ? With the advent of Netflix, etc., the Emmy process is utterly broken. There should be more noms per category, and maybe even special awards for broadcast TV (since they have FCC rules that other networks do not).'' —Trent

''I definitely agree with those who have said Hannibal deserved to be nominated. The acting is top-notch, and writing is superb, and the show itself is pushing the boundaries of network television. It would be refreshing to see more new blood (no pun intended) in the Emmy nominations.'' —Olivia

''Hannibal. It's crazy to me that this show gets no Emmy love. It's freaking awesome!'' —MrsJonSnow

Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany for Best Actress in a Drama

Image
Credit: Steve Wilkie/BBC America

''Tatiana-Freaking-Maslany!!!!! That is all :('' —dsm

''There should be a protest. A group should get together and just chant 'Tatiana' when the Best Actress category comes up. TATIANA TATIANA TATIANA!!'' —Deathlok

''Tatiana Maslany should be WINNING Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series. The fact that she's not even NOMINATED is completely and utterly unforgivable.'' —Lea

''The only one that really bothers me is Tatiana Maslany; she's just effing amazing. She should have Kerry Washington's nomination.'' —Melissa

''Fail on the Emmys for not recognizing Tatiana Maslany, I think they have difficulty with the number roles she does play on the show. It just goes over their head. '' —guest1111

''That awkward moment when the best actress in a drama series is not nominated for best actress in a drama series....'' —Noel

''I don't get how come Melissa McBride is not nominated and The Walking Dead is not anywhere on that list. The actors are amazing, and that show as such a big fan base. Very disappointed. The noms are not creative, it seems it's always the same people.'' —TWD Fan

''MELISSA MCBRIDE! WHERE IS HER NOM?'' —Aaron

''I also really think Melissa McBride could have been a dark horse to win for her episode where she had to kill you know who...'' —ssilva872

'''The Grove' was one of the best hours of TV this past year. Without question.'' —kennedyDC

''The Walking Dead only had 2 nominations but not in any big categories. The acting and supporting acting along with the make up and costuming got ignored.'' —Lisa Palmer

''Walking Dead is one of the best dramas ever. What gives!? Since season 1 it has had the best TV acting from many of its stars. Huge snubs for main cast.'' —TVSHOWSRock?

Game of Thrones for many actors, particularly Pedro Pascal for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama

Credit: Macall B. Polay/HBO

''PEDRO PASCAL for Game of Thrones: Oberyn 'The Red Viper' Martell was the most interesting, dramatic—and sexy—male character on TV all year. Acting-wise, Pascal even stole a couple of scenes from Peter Dinklage, which is near-impossible.'' —Strepsi

''Pedro was the highlight of this season's GOT. The Emmys suck. Hopefully the Golden Globes will give him some love.'' —zak

''Pedro Pascal being omitted makes me the angriest. He was phenomenal as Oberyn Martell, and brought that character to such life. People won't soon forget him, but Emmy did? So not right that it makes me want to pop a few voter heads.'' —Bsquared41

''Ugghh Pedro Pascal and Charles Dance not being nominated makes my head spin.'' —Dcetstyle

''Where is Maisie Williams?? Watching Arya change from a little tomboy into a merciless assassin has been fascinating, and her scenes with the Hound this year (especially the final one) were amazing. GOT would not be the same show without her!'' —Red

''Thrilled Lena Headey finally got recognized, but can Nikolaj Coster-Waldau get recognized already?!?! Season 3 was his best, but he was consistently around in season 4 and was really excellent. Sigh.'' —razorheels

''They could fill all the drama series acting slots with Game of Thrones actors and still snub someone. Still, the omissions of Oberyn and Tywin feel especially unfair. Whatever, a show like Thrones (and its fans) have to accept that the academy will never, ever, ever see past the dragons. *sigh*'' —H.H.

''I'm really saddened that Sons of Anarchy, in particular. Charlie Hunnam, Maggie Siff, and Katey Sagal were snubbed.'' —T

''Sons of Anarchy had one of their best seasons, last year, when it comes to performances, especially Maggie Siff! It bums me out that they were shut out.'' —Erin L

''I don't think anyone can claim that the Emmys are the place to judge and nominate great television when they have consistently overlooked the gem of Sons of Anarchy. Maggie Siff was insanely, INSANELY robbed. It doesn't make sense at all.'' —Real Critic

''I agree about Maggie Siff! I understand that Tara was a very polarizing character, but whether loved her or hated her, Maggie Siff BROUGHT it this year. The scene with Jax in the park where she begged him not to kill her in front of her children was devastating.'' —Kristy

''As a die-hard fan, I have learned to expect this (if not accept it, because it's ridiculous). I would be SHOCKED if they did get any nominations ever again...'' —A.Rae

Masters of Sex deserves best drama, hands down! And can we just discuss this...Michael Sheen was OUTSTANDING in the first season. I am happy Lizzy Caplan was nominated, but I am really let down by the show's absence in other categories.'' —Faith Johnson

''Michael Sheen was criminally snubbed. I like most of the shows nominated in the drama category, but at least 3 of them don't hold a candle to Masters of Sex. Glad to see Allison Janney got a nom for her part, though.'' —VeryNot

''The Americans [especialy] Matthew Rhys?were the worst overlooks.'' —BellatrixMcDougall

''Despite the series not being as great as it once was, Sandra Oh ALWAYS knocked it out of the park with her portrayal of Cristina Yang on Grey's Anatomy. Especially this being her last year on the show and the depth she brought to Cristina this year, it's a shame that she was overlooked.'' —K

''Merritt Wever for Nurse Jackie is amazing as Zoey. Big Snub!'' —Heather

''I don't know what Kaley Cuoco has to do to get recognized. She really holds her own on The Big Bang Theory. She's funny and the straight man all in one. Not sure that I get the big fuss over Mayim Bialik's character.'' —Lauren

''James Spader was THE ACTOR on regular TV this year! The Blacklist was awesome, and he did chew every scene! Stupid Emmy voters!'' —Robobuzz

''Yes, it's on The CW, but Arrow has been killing it with its action sequences and overall storytelling. Disappointed that the final battle wasn't recognized when it was actually amazing for a network show.'' —gisel

''Kim Kardashian was snubbed! #KKSNUB'' —Marie
